Connecting with Inmates at
Uintah County Jail
Welcome to your source for everything you need to communicate with your incarcerated friend or loved one.
Our facility uses the communications services provided through GettingOut by Telmate. On this page, you’ll find all the information you’ll need to stay connected.
Before you can communicate with inmates at this facility, you must first verify your identity.
You will need to confirm your identity through the Telmate Verified program before you can accept inmate phone calls. Telmate verification helps ensure the safety of you and your inmate contact by aiding in the elimination of fraud and extortion. Choose one of these 2 methods to verify your account:
- Make a deposit: You will be verified when you make your first deposit to an inmate or telephone number
- Create a visit account: When you create your video visit account, you’ll be asked some questions to verify your identity.
Phone Calls & Voicemail
Only inmates may initiate phone calls. To call you, an inmate simply dials your phone number. When receiving a call, you’ll first hear an announcement from an automated operator; “You are receiving a call from [inmate name], an inmate at Uintah County Jail. Press one (1) to accept.”
If the inmate has no funds in his account, and is calling you for the first time, the call will be free for a brief period of time (often less than a minute). This is to allow the inmate to inform you of where he or she is, and to explain how calls work from this facility. After this short call, the inmate will be placed on hold and you will be presented the opportunity to:
- Pay (via credit card) to continue the current call.
- Deposit funds for the inmate to continue your call and, if there is money remaining, the inmate may use the funds to make future calls to any number.
- Deposit funds to your own phone number to continue your call and, if there is money remaining, the inmate may use the funds to call your number in the future, but the funds will not be available for calling other numbers.
If you wish to contact an inmate, you can call 1-866-516-0115 and leave them a voicemail (up to 3 minutes), or use one of the other communications methods listed below.
Blocking Future Calls
If you do not wish to receive calls from inmate, simply call 1-866-516-0115 from the phone number that you wish to have blocked. A live operator will help prevent inmates from being able to call that number in the future.
At Uintah County Jail, communication is more than just phone calls.
We provide a number of ways to keep in contact with an inmate. GettingOut at Uintah County Jail allows you to send and receive secure messages, share photos, and video visit from your home. And with our Android and iOS apps, you can send messages and make deposits on the go. See the list below for all that GettingOut has to offer.
Visitation location, rules and hours
Video Visit in Facility
Visitors may visit using the video stations in the jail lobby. Inmates receive 2 free 30-minute visits a week, with additional visits at $7.50 for 30-minutes*. See details for free visits below. Onsite video visitation hours are from 10AM to 10PM, 7 days a week.
Video Visit from Your Computer
Remote (offsite) video visiting is available to friends, family, and others using a Web browser. Video visits may be conducted from any computer with high-speed Internet, a webcam, microphone, & speakers. There is no limit to the number of remote visits, and they may be scheduled on a first-come-first-serve basis. Remote visits are $9.90 for 30 minutes* and are available from 10AM to 10PM, 7 days a week.
To schedule a visit with an inmate, go to www.gettingout.com or use the kiosk in the facility lobby. You will need to login (or register if you haven’t already) before scheduling a visit. Available visiting times may vary throughout the facility, depending on classification and housing unit. Inmates are responsible for communicating their allowed visit times to prospective visitors. Inmates will not be permitted to visit during their lockdown time.
For all free visits, and all onsite visits, visitors must be present in the visitation reception area 5-10 minutes before their scheduled visit. Inmates visit using a video station in their housing unit.
Canceling a Visit
To cancel a visit, log into www.gettingout.com or use the link provided in your confirmation email. Cancellations that are over 24 hours in advance are fully refunded.
Minors under the age of 18 are allowed to visit as long as they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Rules for Visiting from the Lobby:
- Visitors must be Telmate Verified. You can create your account using the kiosk in the lobby, or online through this website.
- No more than two people from an inmate’s list may visit at a time.
- Visitors may visit more than one inmate per day.
- Visitors less than 18 years of age must be an immediate family member (brother, sister, son, daughter, step-son, step-daughter, grandson, granddaughter, etc.) of the inmate, must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is on the inmate’s visitation list.
- Only two children under 18 years of age will be allowed to visit with an inmate.
- Children must be watched and controlled at all times or the visit will be terminated.
- Visitors will not be permitted to take any tobacco products, flammable products, food, drink or candy, cellular phone, electronic devices, or other similar items into the visitation booth. These items must be secured in a locker.
Proper attire is required at all times. If proper attire is not worn, your visitation privilege will be suspended.
- Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times.
- Only one layer of clothing is allowed. Blouses or sweaters worn over tank tops or camisoles are NOT allowed. Sweaters worn over appropriate shirts will need to be removed before visiting.
- Females needing a bra are required to wear one, however clothing with proper support is permissible.
Inappropriate attire is defined as the following, but not limited to:
- Halter tops or swimwear (midriff shall be covered)
- Tube top, sleeveless dresses, tank tops or tops with spaghetti straps
- Revealing dresses, blouses, or tops (including see-thru garments)
- Spandex or extremely tight fitting jeans, pants or shorts
- Shorts or skirts that are cut higher than two inches above the knee
- NO hoods, hats, do-rags or scarfs
- NO jackets or coats of any type
Remember, visitation is a PRIVILEGE and may be refused or terminated due to the actions or behaviors of either the visitor or the inmate.

Making Deposits at the Kiosk & Commissary
If you need to deposit cash, you can deposit funds at a Telmate Lobby Kiosk. The lobby kiosk is located in the jail lobby.
Inmates are allowed to maintain a commissary account while incarcerated. This money may be used for purchasing snacks, toiletries, personal hygiene items, etc. Money for an offenders commissary account may be deposited here on the GettingOut site, over the phone with a customer service representative, or at one of the kiosks listed above. If you are paying with a credit card, the GettingOut site is the fastest and most convenient way to deposit funds for an offender.
