Tablet Video Visit FAQs
Do I have to pay up front?
Yes, for a video visit to take place there must be enough funds in either the Inmate account or the Friends & Family account. In other words, there must be funds in at least one account. The payment is collected only after the visit has occurred.
If there are funds in both accounts, will they both be charged for a video visit?
No, only one account will ever be charged.
Who pays for a video visit?
The person who initiates the video visit is the default payer. If you initiate the video visit and have the available funds, you are responsible for payment. If an inmate schedules a visit with you and you accept, the inmate pays for the visit assuming they have enough funds in their account.
In either case, if the initiator of the visit does not have funds on their account, payment can be passed onto the recipient of the call, provided they elect to pay for the visit. If no one elects to pay for a visit, the visit cannot happen.
If I scheduled a 30 minute visit, will I be charged for a 30 minute visit?
Yes, if the visit lasts for 30 minutes. If it lasts for only 5 minutes, you will only be charged for 5 minutes. In other words, you will only be charged for the amount of time of the video visit.
